SPEECH COMMUNITIES
The speech communities represented in our linguistic collection come from diverse geographic and cultural backgrounds. Some communities are located in urban centers, while others are based in rural areas. The languages and dialects featured in our recordings reflect the unique histories, traditions, and identities of the people who speak them. By documenting the ways in which different languages are used and transmitted within specific communities, we hope to contribute to a better understanding of the complex relationship between language, culture, and identity. Our project is a celebration of the diversity of human language and a testament to the importance of preserving linguistic heritage.

LANGUAGE REVITALIZATION
Language revitalization is the process of bringing a language back into active use after it has been in decline or endangered. Many of the languages and dialects featured in our linguistic collection are at risk of extinction, with fewer and fewer speakers each year. By documenting and sharing these languages, we hope to raise awareness about the importance of language revitalization efforts around the world. Revitalization efforts can take many forms, such as language immersion programs, community language classes, or the creation of language materials like dictionaries and grammar books. Our project aims to contribute to these efforts by providing a platform for these languages to be heard and celebrated. We believe that the preservation and revitalization of endangered languages is critical for maintaining cultural diversity and promoting linguistic justice.

LINGUISTIC DIVERSITY

Linguistic diversity is the range of languages and dialects spoken around the world. Every language is a unique system of communication that reflects the culture, history, and identity of the people who speak it. The linguistic diversity showcased in our documentary collection highlights the richness of human language and the importance of preserving this diversity. By recognizing and celebrating the linguistic diversity of our world, we can better
understand and appreciate the ways in which language shapes our lives and communities. At the same time, linguistic diversity is increasingly under threat, with many languages facing extinction due to factors such as globalization, migration, and cultural assimilation. Our project is a call to action to preserve and promote linguistic diversity, and to recognize the value of every language and dialect as a vital part of our shared human heritage.
Knowledge of languages is the doorway to wisdom.
