Khmer 1
The Papaya Flower song is well-known throughout Cambodia. It is traditionally sung during many events, including village and family gatherings. Cambodians usually sing it accompanied by romvong - typical Khmer dance which involves both men and women dancing in a circle while gently moving their hands. The dance and the song are practised by the Khmer people until this day. The song is about advances which a man makes to a woman. She is compared to a papaya flower growing in a forest that the man wants to pick up.
